The evolutionary history of the Gorleben site as natural analogue for the long-term behaviour of an engineered barrier system
Description
The processes and interactions occurring in the Gorleben site are assigned to the geohistorical time scale and presented for their sequence. This concerns: Tectonics and epigenesis, eustasis, chemico-mineralogical transformation in the salt deposit, halokinetic evolutionary history, subrosion at the salt dome rood, evolutionary history of the cap rock, sedimentation and erosion above the salt dome and glacigenic impacts on the site. These allow a prediction for the foreseeable geological future. (orig./HP)
Abstract (German)
Am Standort Gorleben werden abgelaufene Prozesse und ihre Wechselwirkungen in die erdgeschichtliche Zeitskala eingeordnet und in ihrem Ablauf dargestellt. Es handelt sich hierbei um die Tektonik und Epirogenese, Eustasie, chemisch-mineralogische Umwandlungen in der Salzlagerstaette, halokinetische Entwicklungsgeschichte, Subrosion am Salzstockdach, Entwicklungsgeschichte des Hutgesteins, Sedimentation und Erosion ueber dem Salzstock und die glazigenen Einwirkungen auf den Standort. Daraus laesst sich jeweils eine Prognose fuer die naehere geologische Zukunft ableiten. (orig./HP)Additional details
