Description
This note describes a series of basic measurements performed to characterize the effects of a universal wedge upon the peripheral dose. Peripheral dose profiles were obtained for open and wedged fields for two linear accelerators using universal wedges and generating 6 MV and 10 MV X rays. The peripheral dose is presented as a percentage of the central axis maximum and as a function of field dimension, wedge orientation and distance from the geometric field edge. (UK)
