Determination of retention data on various materials mixed stationary phases by gas chromatography

Full text.Despite the fact that various pure stationary phases are commercially available for gas chromatography, the separation of many important compounds remain difficult to achieve. In order to improve the resolution of complex mixtures such as branched aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons and their various isomers, we have experimented the application of binary stationary phases mixtures for this purpose. The selected commercial phases were various substituted OV silicones having different structures and polarities. these binary mixtures were impregnated on glass capillary columns using the dynamic coating method. Their chromatographic properties were evaluated by studying the retention of several homologous series at different temperatures (n-alkanes, alcohols, aromatic hydrocarbons). The results were compared to those obtained on pure stationary phases in the same experimental conditions. On the other hand, experimental retention raw data were compared to calculated values estimated by means of different mathematical adjustment methods
