Density matrix evaluation of selective excitation of 168Yb isotope in a three colour photoionisation scheme by CW laser excitation

Description
Optimum values of Rabi frequencies and ionisation rates have been obtained by finding the values where the selective-ionisation efficiency is largest. Calculation of optical selectivities of 168Yb isotope has been carried out using the optimum values obtained for various laser linewidths keeping the Doppler width as 500 MHz. The selectivity of the 168Yb isotope against the major 174Yb isotope for various laser bandwidths is tabulated. Results of the investigations are presented
