Advances in quantitative study of pancreatic fat deposition in MRI

Description

Pancreatic fat deposition refers to too much triglyceride accumulation in the pancreas and the fatty replacement of pancreatic parenchyma. It can be found in both healthy individuals and patients with pancreatic diseases, and may relate to metabolic syndrome as well. The early diagnosis and intervention for fatty pancreas may provide new clues for the therapy of related diseases. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive technique to detect and quantify the fat deposition in the pancreas, and the MRI measurement is highly consistent with biochemical measurement.Here we reviewed the research progress in this aspect.
