Description

Spontaneous kidney ruptures in pregnant women are a rare condition. In the literature the described cases are mainly for the right side. Some of them are associated with concomitant urinary tract infections with/or nephrolithiasis. The authors present a clinical case of a 34-year-old women in labour who had a spontaneous rupture of left kidney with leakage of urine and the undertaken therapeutic approach. In the presented case the rupture is related to a physiological hydronephrosis during the pregnancy but also to a stone in the left ureter. Keywords: spontaneous renal rupture, hydronephrosis during pregnancy, urinoma
