Description
Complexes of the composition MF5L (M=Nb, Ta; L=α, α'-dipy, γ, γ'-dipy, o, o'-phen) are prepared by the reaction of niobium or tantalum pentafluorides with α, α'-, γ, γ'-dipyridyls and o, o'-phenanthroline in solution of toluene or acetonitrile at the ligand ratios: MF5=2; 1 and 0.5. In the case of double excees of MF5, the reaction With γγ'-dipy prsUltS in the fOrmatiOr of 2MF5xL. The compounds prepared are characterized by the data of chemical and X-ray phase analyses and IR spectroscopy. A conclusion is drawn that in the complexes MF5L (L=α, α'-dipy, o, o'-phen) the ligand is coordinated in a bidentate Way and the coordination number of a central atom is seven. Complexes with γγ'-dipy are hexacoordination ones, in MF5L the nitrogen-containing ligand is coordinated in a monodentate way, and in the compound 2MF5xL-in a bidentate way and it occupies a bridge position between two fragments of MF5
