A combined therapy of radiation with interleukin 2 as bioresponse modifier on experimental tumor
- 1. Kansai Medical Univ., Moriguchi, Osaka (Japan)
Description
We measured that anti-tumor effects on experimental mouse tumor (SCC-7) by radiation, interleukin 2 (IL-2), and these combined use. Experimental groups were radiation alone (10 Gy, 20 Gy), IL-2 alone (105 U x 8 times) and combined groups with these two treatments. The anti-tumor effects were estimated by tumor growth delay (Days require tumor volume for 4 times), and pathological changes of tumor tissue using the immunological staining methods on the day 2, 4, 7, 11, 14, 20 after these treatments. Anti-tumor effects by combined group were additive effects, which were not derived by increased T3L4 positive cells. But in combined groups, increased Thy 1, 2 positive cells were found in early stage (day 7) and late stage (day 20) after treatment. (author)
