Evaporation residues from complete and incomplete fusion of 20 Ne with 197 Au and 208 Pb at E/A = 8.6 to 15 MeV/u

Description
The evaporation residue production in the reactions 20 Ne + 197 Au, 208 Pb has been investigated at bombarding energies between E/A = 8.6 MeV/u and 15 MeV/u. Influence of preequilibrium emission on evaporation residue production is observed. It is assumed, especially at the lower bombarding energies, preequilibrium emission is predominantly connected to nuclei, having high angular momenta, which exclusively undergo fission and do not contribute to the evaporation residue production. 24 refs., 9 figs., 1 tab
