Venus albedo in the 0.2-4.0 μm range

Creators

Description

The results of combined analysis of data on Venus spectral reflectivity obtained by different observers accounting for fluxes of outgoing infrared radiation are presented. The dependence of spherical albedo on wavelength in the 0.2-4 μm range, Venus visual albedo (A=0.85), integral albedo (A=0.75) are determined. It follows from the experimental data that Venus albedo in 0.4-25 μm range attains great values and it is relatively small at short (lambda< 0.4μm) and long (lambda>2.5 μm) waves. In the lambda> 1.5 μm range the dependence of monochromatic albedo on wavelength is in good agreement with the hypothesis that in the upper part of a cloud layer particles of sulfuric acid aqueous solution predominate
