Elastooptic effect in PLZT ceramics
Description
The behaviour of the elastooptic effect in Pbsub(0.91)Lasub(0.09) (Zrsub(0.65)Tisub(0.35))O3 (PLZT 9/65/35) was studied. A nonlinear dependence of the induced birefringence on the external stress could be observed up to 150 0C. The dispersion of the elastooptic effect confirmed the validity of the Wemple-DiDomenico model - the strain induced modification of the electron energy band structure as the microscopic origin of the effect
