Description
According to recent data on equatorial and polar α-emission in the ternary fission of 252Cf, the necessary energy to be supplied to the fissioning nucleus is of the order of the energy of the double giant dipole resonance. The authors show that a cluster model of fission can explain the appearance of various very energy-rich processes in an early stage of fission
