Radiation inactivation of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (Paper No. RC-12)

  • 1. Saha Inst. of Nuclear Physics, Calcutta (India). Nuclear Chemistry Div.

Description

The activity of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase dereased exponentially as a function of the applied dose under all conditions investigated when irradiated with 60Co γ-rays in dilute solutions. The G(inactivation) values in different media were determined. The hydrogen atom and hydroxyl radical were found to be important in the enzyme inactivation and the former has greater contribution than the latter. (author). 4 refs., 1 tab
