A simple Faraday cup controller for use in implantation work at IOP

  • 1. Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar (India)

Description

A simple Faraday Cup (FC) controller which uses a transistor as a switch has been designed and fabricated for precise control of ion flux on the target during experiments involving ion beam. The unit controls an FC through a digital signal obtained from a counter operating together with a current integrator. The digital signal is used in driving a relay through which the coil controlling the FC gets its power. (author)
