Description
Reference fracture toughness, Ksub(IR), curves are constructed according to the various methods developed to date. Recent treatments of reference fracture toughness curves are applied to eight steels of widely ranging strengths (455-812MPa). Good agreement between Ksub(IR) values according to the USSR non-ductile failure design recommendations and the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Section III - and the experiment static (Ksub(IC)) and dynamic (Ksub(Id)) fracture toughness data is observed over a wide temperature range. Better agreement seems to exist with higher tensile strength steels. (author)
