Description
Preventive Maintenance for Bio Beam Gamma Cell. The GM8000 BioBeam gamma irradiation chamber began full operation on 13 December 2012. The specifications of the device have been adapted for acute irradiation of biological samples including samples of plants, microorganisms, insects, animal as well as human cells. For mutation breeding studies, irradiation can be done on various crop samples such as stem cuttings, seeds, onions, rhizomes and tissue cultures. Preventive maintenance work needs to be done to ensure that the tool can function properly. (author)
