Microimpurities in single crystals of hexagonal lithium iodate

Description
A study was made on microimpurity coentring to lithium iodate single crystals, grown from aqueous solution with addition of radioactive 59Fe, 57Co, 54Mn, 65Zn isotopes. Sufficient heterogeneity of microimpurity distribution was revealed. The difference of their content in the crystal was equal to several orders. Isomorphous character of entering of all investigated cation microimpurities to lithium iodate crystals was established. Adequacy of mathematical model, describing chemical heterogeneity of single crystals grown from the solution by the method of isothermal evaporation, was demonstrated in experiments. Experimental values of distribution constants (according to Derner and Hoskins) of iron, manganese, zinc microimpurities (for their copresence in mother solution) were obtained
