Radiometric method of phosphorite testing for P2O5 in wells

Description

A method based on the correlation (tau=0.92-0.95) between the P2O5 and U concentrations in phosphorites in nodular deposits is described. The low and constant concentration of Th has made it possible to simplify the measurement technique, which consists of recording the intensity of gamma radiation with an energy of over 1.6 MeV. A SP-3 spectrometer is used, the detector being housed in a hermetically sealed duralumin container 115 mm in diameter with a NaI crystal of size 70 x 70 mm. (author)
