Creators

  • 1. BP Oil Company, Cleveland, OH (United States)

Description

Corrective action activities can be both technically complex and economically overwhelming to UST owners. To address the complexities of the corrective action process and to provide a logical framework and general sequence for site assessment and remediation activities, the ASTM Subcommittee E-50.01 Site Assessment/Corrective Action Task Force has undertaken the task of developing a guide to corrective action for petroleum releases. The guide is intended to complement Federal, State, and Local regulations and other practices concerning this subject. This paper briefly discusses the approaches and issues which are being addressed in the guide. The issues addressed include: Identification of Indicators, Assessment prior to Tank Removal, Assessment during Tank Closure, Interim Corrective Action, Site Assessment, Remedial Action, and the Closure Process
