Influence of operating factors on protective properties of some coatings under fretting corrosion conditions
Description
A study was made on fretting corrosion resistance of some polymeric coatings, applied on VT3-1 titanium in contact with unprotected 40Kh2N4MA steel. Polymeric electrophoretic coatings, based on alkyl-epoxy VEP-0179 oligomer, phenol-formaldehyde V-Fl-1493 enamel and water-diluted V-Fl-0131 lacquer were chosen as coatings under investigation. The comparative tests of polymeric coatings enabled to establish the relationship between the specific frictional work and fretting corrosion resistance: the lower was specific frictional work, the lower was fretting corrosion resistance
