On reversing of nonlinear Alfven waves in collisionless plasma
Creators
Description
Reversal of non-linear Alfven waves in collisionless plasma is considered. It is shown that a region, comprising two collisionless shock waves (CSW) which can be joint at s2=1 point, and expanding with time, occurs after reversal. If only one Riemann invariant is changed in the region of CSW, then they are simple. CSW structures for various initial conditions of non-linear wave are constructed. For this purpose the Whithem averaging method is used. Conditions similar to the shock Rankin-Hugonio adiabates are obtained. 9 refs., 2 figs
