A new method for the estimation of neutron fluence, absorbed dose and dose equivalent in stray neutron fields based on the single sphere albedo technique

  • 1. Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe G.m.b.H. (Germany, F.R.)

Description

The adequate superposition of two response functions for the TLD600/TLD700 detector pairs in the center and the surface of a 30 cm polyethylene sphere, fit the neutron fluence PHI and the absorbed dose D independent of neutron energy at least in the energy range 1 keV to 10 MeV. The computer program applied estimates in addition the neutron fluence-to-dose conversion factors and the Q-value of the actual neutron spectrum. (author)
