Estimation of the transverse space charge limiting current in a compact isochronous cyclotron

Description
In this article we have described a method to improve the space charge limit of beam current that can be injected into a compact isochronous cyclotron. We have found out optimum values for the vertical betatron tune and the average magnetic field leading to a maximum limiting current. The dependence of the limiting current on various machine and beam related parameters such as vertical betatron tune, average magnetic field, injection energy and emittance of the beam, etc. have also been studied
