The influence of alpha-particle, proton irradiation and post-irradiation phase recrystallization on phase-structural transformation of carbon steel

Description

In this work has been demonstrated the new radiation effect connected with thermal irreversible changes in the process post-radiation poly morphology transformation of carbon steel U-7 irradiated by alpha particles. The carbon steel samples have been irradiated by special methodic in the cyclotron by the proton with energy Ep=10 MeV and the alpha-particles with Eα=29 MeV. This methodic provides conditions of space division of sample' irradiated volume from non-irradiated material' layer diluted by hydrogen or helium. In the samples irradiated by alpha-particles and annealed by 950 deg C has been observed the formation of small grain phase of ferrite-pearlite structure with simultaneous increase of the ferrite phase'relative portion. The additional high temperature annealings does not conducted to the structure restoration within irradiated volume of the sample' steel. It is supposed, that observing defect is connected with carbon desorption out of sample' irradiated volume by the processes post-radiation crystal phase transformation
