Impacts of El Nino in western Washington
Description
In the fall and early winter of 1991, abnormal precipitation and temperatures caused streamflows to drop to very low levels in western washington. The climatic phenomenon called El Nino is described, and its impact on hydrologic conditions in western Washington is shown for two recent events. Impacts on water management during the 1991-92 event are discussed using management of the Green River in western Washington as an example
