First results from RHIC
Description
Results are presented from the successful year-1 run at BNL-RHIC with Au + Au collisions at √sNN=130 GeV. Topics covered are; measurements of charged particle multiplicity and transverse energy, yield ratio of hadrons, transverse hadron spectra, elliptic anisotropy of azimuthal distribution of particles, and hadrons in the high transverse momentum region. The results show interesting new features revealed at RHIC. (author)
