Neutron radiation effects on metal plasticity characteristics
Creators
Description
To explain radiation embrittlement, an analysis of the failure of a neutron-irradiated metal specimen was carried out; the analysis was based on the loss of resistance of the material to plastic deformation prior to failure. Analytical dependences were obtained for uniform plastic deformation and specific work of failure on the stress, deformation rate, the rate of increase in the micropores, and the density of radiation defects. The proposed theory is compared with experiment
