Many-body calculations for metallic clusters using the jellium model

Description
The electronic structure and optical properties of microscopic metal clusters are investigated within the frame of the jellium model. The total energies, the single-electron wave functions and the static characteristics are calculated within the Hartree-Fork approximation. The new type of adiabatic oscillations of cluster core is predicted. The Optimized Jellium Model in which the total cluster energy reaches an absolute minimum is discussed. The results of the RPAE calculations for the photoexcitation and photoionization reveal the very important role of collective many-electron effects in the description of cluster optical response.
