Nd-Fe-B magnets coating with electrodeposited Ni

Description

The characteristics of Ni coating by galvanic via on Nd-Fe-B magnets are presented. The bath was based on Watts composition, where control of elements concentration was carried out in order to reduce the electrolyte agressivity. The final plating was homogeneous over all phases with a exponential type relation for the growth of the film in function of the time of the deposit. The hardness point to a stabilization and the adhesion tests by thermal shock presented a good adherence of the film to temperature up to 400 deg C. (author)
