Description

A short review is presented of the application, status and trends in the development of nuclear geophysics in the U.S.S.R. Reference is made to different measuring systems and to methods of data acquisition and data processing. In particular, systems are described which have been developed for measuring natural γ-rays, neutron-induced γ-rays and neutron-neutron reactions in the search for, and recovery of gas, oil and metalliferous minerals.
