Magneto-optical studies of YIG(CaGe) thick film

Description
Measurements of magneto-optical spectra of an yttrium iron garnet sample doped with calcium and germanium were performed in polar Kerr geometry at normal incidence at room and liquid-helium temperature. The results at room temperature are compared with a theoretical calculation considering incoherent superposition of multiple reflections originating from the two surfaces of the sample. The estimated spectrum is in good qualitative agreement with that observed experimentally. The presence of a quantitative discrepancy is discussed. ((orig.))
