The influence of NbC-additions to TiC-MoCsub(x)-hard metals
Description
The mechanical properties of samples with 70 mol% TiC, 15 mol% NbC and 15 mol% MoCsub(x) were investigated. There is no significant difference between the specimens and (Ti,Mo)C-Ni-hard metals without niobium. If more NbC (about 50 mol%) is added, the hardness decreases and the crack propagation resistance increases. (orig.)

Die mechanischen Eigenschaften von Proben mit 70 Mol% TiC, 15 Mol% NbC und 15 Mol% MoCsub(x) wurden untersucht. Die Eigenschaften weichen nur unwesentlich von denen niobfreier (Ti,Mo)C-Ni-Hartmetalle ab. Erst bei noch hoeheren NbC-Zusaetzen (50 Mol%) sinkt die Haerte deutlich ab, waehrend der Rissausbreitungswiderstand steigt. (orig.)Additional details
