Analysis of first results with detection of space occupying lesions in Hodgkin disease and in tumorous liver lesions obtained using single-photon emission computed tomography
- 1. Karlova Univ., Prague (Czechoslovakia). Fakulta Vseobecneho Lekarstvi
Description
Single-photon emission tomography examinations were performed in 18 patients with suspect tumorous space occupying lesions of the liver using 99mTc-S colloid, and in 34 patients with Hodgkin disease using 67Ga. The results of examinations were compared with clinical findings, conventional scintigraphy, radiology, and for selected patients also with ultrasonography and computed tomography. The results of analysis are in good agreement with the literature and show the usefulness of emission tomography. The examination is relatively time consuming, it will thus be necessary to restrict indications so that it really contributes to the accuracy of clinical diagnosis. (author)
