Study of sound absorption in gallium and indium tellurides melts

  • 1. Moskovskij Inst. Ehlektronnoj Tekhniki, Moscow (USSR)

Description

Methods are developed and equipment to measure sound absorption in high-temperature melts is created. Frequency range of the equipment is 10-150 MHz. Reliability of the methods is established by calibration measurements of the signal absorption coefficient in indium melt. Polytherms of the absorption coefficient in GaTe, Ga2Te3, InTe, In2Te3 melts with the temperature coefficient differing of liquid indium are obtained for the first time. Comparative analysis of the obtained results reveals the features of structure changes during heating of gallium and indium telluride melts
