Description
The third report by the Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment deals with the incidence of childhood cancer in the W. Berkshire and N. Hampshire area near to the Atomic Weapon establishments. By assessing the radiation doses to the general public in this area from atmospheric discharges, liquid discharges and accidental releases, an estimation is made of the increase in risk of childhood cancer for the period 1972 to 1985 for the 0-14 year old age group. Conclusions and recommendations are presented. (UK)
