Subunit association, (UN) folding dynamics of CIA17 at low pH: a spectroscopic and microscopic study

  • 1. School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad (India)

Description

We demonstrate here the low pH induced perturbation in the structure, conformational dynamics of Cocciniaindica agglutinin (CIA17). While tertiary structure of the protein exhibits considerable changes, secondary structure of CIA17 remains almost unaltered. FCS studies revealed that CIA17at pH-2.0 exists as a monomeric intermediate in a concentration range ∼10nM-200nM and forms dimers at higher concentrations (KD≈387 nM). The intermediates retain carbohydrate binding specificity considerably. (author)
