Description
The halogen radicals (X=F, Cl, Br, I) released from the marine coastal area, anthropogenic sources, and artificial resources are efficient catalysts in depleting the ozone layer in the stratospheric atmosphere Bromine substituents are more actively participate in the O3 loss than chlorine because most of it reacts with O(3P) to remain as Bromine monoxide (BrO). The other reservoir forms of Bromine, like BrONO2, is relatively unstable, and the formation of HBr is most likely possible in the atmosphere. The most abundant non-methane gas found in the atmosphere is propane. So, the study of the kinetics of BrO radical with Propylperoxy (PrO2) radical can play a vital role in the atmosphere. The in-situ BrO radical generation was performed by photolysis of n-propyl bromide in the presence of O3. Temperature and pressure-dependent rate coefficients of BrO radical with PrO2were performed using a custom-built pulsed laser photolysis-cavity ring-down spectroscopy (PLP-CRDS) technique. The probing wavelength of BrO radical was chosen to be 344.04 nm, exciting its A2Π3/2←X2Π3/2(6,0) absorption band
