Non-Maxwellian ion distributions in compressed laser targets
Description
The validity of the Maxwellian assumption when used to calculate neutron yields from thermonuclear DT fuel compressed and heated by laser irradiation is analyzed. Detailed Fokker--Planck calculations show that this approximation is adequate in cases of interest. (U.S.)
