Dependence of maximum amplitudes of afterpulses and main pulses in a PMT
Description
The relationship between amplitudes of afterpulses caused by ion feedback and amplitudes of the main pulses is studied in a PMT. It is found to be 'anomalous', the afterpulse amplitudes being inversely related to the main pulse amplitudes. It is also found that intensities of feedback ions are increased with the increase of the charge of the main pulse. It follows that afterpulse amplitudes are mainly determined by the process of detecting single feedback ions. (author)
