Investigation of pinning in single crystals of TaNb alloys with a low critical current density

  • 1. Institute of Physics, Academy of Sciences of the Georgian SSR, Tbilisi

Description

Pinning is investigated by the standard current method in single-crystal type-II superconductors. The effect of surface and bulk defects is studied as is also the pinning anisotropy in a deformed Ta70Nb30 single crystal. The results are compared with data obtained by the mechanical method of investigating pinning. The mechanical and current measurements of the pinning strength are found to be in fair agreement
