Self-mode-locking of an iodine photodissociation laser

  • 1. Laboratory of Plasma Studies, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York 14853

Description

The observation of self-mode-locking of an iodine photodissociation laser is reported. A typical laser output takes the form of a train of fully or partially mode-locked relaxation spikes. Simultaneous oscillation on at least eight longitudinal modes and locking of both longitudinal and transverse modes have been observed
