Treatment of opinions in the public hearing on the reactor installation at Noto Nuclear Power Plant of Hokuriku Electric Power Co., Ltd

Description

The public hearing on installation of reactor at Noto Nuclear Power Plant of Hokuriku Electric Power Co., Ltd. was held at Shika-machi, Hakui-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture, on February 24, 1988. Opinions are collected from local residents on the location including the site conditions, earthquakes, meteorology, hydrology, social environment; safety design of the nuclear reactor facilities as a whole, core, pressure vessel, containment vessel and ECCS; issues on wastes including their disposition, cement glass solidification and storage; issues on radiation exposure including exposure during normal operation, radiation monitoring, exposure management and accidents; evaluation of accidents; and other issues. The Nuclear Safety Commission has decided that opinions related with the safety design peculiar to the relevant nuclear facilities should be studied by the Nuclear Reactor Safety Expert Group. Opinions on technical capabilities should be reviewed by the Commission. All other opinions should also be published if they do not seem to require considerations. (Nogami, K.)
