Development of a methodology to validation groups of redundant measurements

Description

It is presented a new method for the validation of redundant measurements based on the parity-space method. This method determines a subset of consistent measurements, obtained from the selection among the redundant measurements of a given group, which represents a process variable. From this subset it is calculated an estimative value of the redundant measurements. The implementation of the method for validation of redundant measurements in a software provides reliable information which are necessary to the efficient operation of several systems, as such as safety parameters display systems (SPDS) and digital monitoring and control. The capability of detecting faulted sensors with high sensibility increase the efficiency and availability of a nuclear power plant. (author)
