Field-assisted thermally stimulated exoelectron emission from BeO

  • 1. Giessen Univ. (Germany, F.R.). 1. Physikalisches Inst.

Description

Under UHV conditions oxidized Be (0001) surfaces are measured with respect to their thermally stimulated exoelectron emission (TSEE) properties after electron excitation. Variing the excitation energy between 0 and 3 keV, maxima of the TSEE yield are found, corresponding to maxima in TSEE energy. The results are interpreted in terms of a simple space charge model.
