Three-dimensional numerical model of the formation of large-scale structure in the Universe

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Prikladnoj Matematiki

Description

The first results of numerical fully three-dimensional simulations of formation and evolution of the large-scale structure of the Universe are presented. The simulations were carried out in the framework of the adiabatic scenario of galaxy formation. The model contains 323 = 32 768 collisionless particles interacting only gravitationally. Equal mass particles are moving in a collective gravitational field which is smoothed at small scales. Evolution of perturbations is followed in an expanding cosmological model. (author)
