Software for dual image acquisition and processing in ectopic kidneys

Functional assessment of kidneys is done in gamma camera using 99mTc labeled Di-ethylene Tri-amine Penta Acetic Acid (DTPA). Conventionally, image data sets are acquired keeping the camera detector posteriorly. Post processing is done to generate renogram curves and to compute the quantitative parameters. Ectopic kidneys are positioned in different depth and in different places. Variation in the kidney depth and the tissue attenuation leads to error in the computed quantitative parameters. This study has been done to acquire and process the data in a dual head gamma camera from anterior and posterior views to get improved values of the quantitative parameters
