Production of unmagnetized dense plasma with large area by electron cyclotron resonance in a linear multipole field
Description
Uniform high density plasmas were produced by electron cyclotron heating in a compact linear hexadecapole device. The obtained electron density of 2 x 1012 is 30 times the cutoff density for RF source of 2450 MHz. The features of this field configuration and the mechanism of overdense plasma production are discussed. (author). 2 refs, 5 figs
