Description
This paper presents a study to compare CT with fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB) in the evaluation of patients presenting with hemoptysis. CT and chest radiographic findings were retrospectively correlated with FOB in 58 cases. Standard 10-mm-thick sections were obtained in 41 cases, with additional 1.5-or 5-mm-thick sections obtained in seven. In 10 cases, a specific high-resolution CT protocol was used, consisting only of 1.5- and 5-mm-thick sections. Results are correlated with final diagnoses established either clinically or pathologically
