Simple model for convoy electrons transport
- 1. Comision Nacional de Energia Atomica, San Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina). Centro Atomico Bariloche
Description
We study the energy and angular distribution of electrons emitted when fast heavy particles transverse a medium. We present a simple transport model, based on the Boltzmann Equation, which results in a partial differential equation for the electron distribution. This model requires the assumption of simple expressions for the cross sections. The transport equation can be analytically solved and provides the electron spectra near the Convoy Electron Peak, which shows a qualitative agreement with experimental observations in the forward direction and predicts the angular dependence.
