French and German safety authorities cooperation

French-German cooperation in safety domain was mainly related to the comparison of safety policies for in-service reactors on both sides of the border. These last years, this cooperation has increased in order to define the common safety standards for future reactors. The Deutsch-Franzosiche Kommission (DFK) was created in 1976 for the safety of pressurized water reactors and for the protection of populations and environment against nuclear accidents and radioactive effluents. The Deutsch Franzosischen Direktionsausschuss (DFD) was created in 1989-90 in complement to the DFK to treat at a national scale the general safety problems and to study the conception of future pressurized water reactors taking into account radioprotection, waste management, maintenance and human factors problems. French and German manufacturers and electricians implied in the European Pressurized water Reactor (EPR) project have written the Conceptual Safety Features Review File (CSFRF) which describes the main safety and security points for the next reactors generation.
